Understanding Children at Risk
Children are an important part of God’s kingdom. They are also vulnerable, and many children around the world face serious risk daily. Children bound by risks are unable to pursue their fully developed potential. How can the church see these children at risk and participate in their holistic and redemptive development?

Children, Youth, and Trauma
Many people have lived through trauma. Research tells us that if we were to put people into random groups, about ½ of the people in your group will have experienced trauma at least once or twice in their life. The impact of trauma on a child’s stress is damaging to their development. Throughout this course we will discuss the impact of trauma on a child, the probability of knowing someone who has experienced trauma, and how we can be more aware of the signs and impacts.

Building Resilience in Children and Youth
Not every traumatic situation needs to have long-term effects on a child. Especially if they have competent caring relationships and role models committed to support and kindness. Through this course, you will be equipped with knowledge and skills to minister to child survivors of trauma.

Advocacy for and with Children
God values children. Though they are dependent, children can be vital agents of God’s mission when empowered. What would it look like for children to be meaningfully incorporated into the mission of the church?
